Die Cutting
Die cutting is a finishing technique used to cut shapes from paper and other materials for visual and/or functional purposes. Examples include presentation folders, custom envelopes, door hangers, and table tents.
A die cutting die is made using special steel rules, rubber “release” bumpers, and a wooden carrier. Sharpened steel blades are molded to the desired design and mounted onto the wood carrier, forming the die cut shape. The carrier is then locked into a special die cutting press into which the sheets of paper are fed.
